Fearfully and Wonderfully Made
For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:13-14).
The whole concept of how the mind and body work to enable life is truly amazing to me. Every little part is so detailed and complex. Did you know that one brain cell can hold five times as much information as the Encyclopedia Britannica? The human body is estimated to have 60,000 miles of blood vessels. That is enough to go around the whole earth more than 2 times. Our body, mind, and soul are a gift, and God designed them to accomplish great things.
Do you not know your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore, honor God with your bodies (1 Corinthians 6:19-20).
Taking care of ourselves not only improves the quality of our lives, but also allows us to better live the life that God has laid out for us.
So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God (1 Corinthians 10:33).
